In the event of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle requires:
- To rent a vehicle from Car Hire in Morden, you must be at least 21 years old. Age restrictions may differ based on the vehicle type, with potential extra fees for drivers under 25. A valid driving license suitable for the vehicle category is required, along with proof of identity and current address. You will also need to supply valid payment details and a security deposit, as well as meet any other stipulations outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payments
- Reservations can be made via our website, by phone, or directly at our Dartford facility. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The total payment, along with a security deposit, is usually required at the time of vehicle pick-up. All pricing is displayed in British Pounds (£) and includes VAT where relevant. We accept major credit and debit cards through secure payment platforms.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be generated and must be signed by both parties. Upon return, the vehicle should be in the same condition as it was when collected, accounting for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and appropriate charges will apply. Ensure the fuel level is the same as at collection; otherwise, refueling fees will be assessed. If you expect to return the vehicle late, please inform us as soon as possible, as late returns may incur extra charges. You will be liable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or fees incurred during your rental, along with a small administrative charge.
Insurance and Liability Coverage
- All rentals come with standard third-party insurance included. You will find comprehensive coverage information and excess amounts outlined in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to further limit your financial exposure. It is advisable to review these options thoroughly. You remain liable for any damage or loss up to the excess amount specified, unless additional insurance is purchased. Damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms will remain your responsibility, irrespective of any insurance coverage.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows could incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Uses of Rental Vehicle
- The vehicle must not be used for any unlawful activities. Activities such as racing, rallying, or off-roading are prohibited. Transporting hazardous materials is strictly forbidden. Sub-letting to others or permitting unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is prohibited. The vehicle should only be used for its intended purpose and within specified passenger and weight limits. Operating the vehicle outside the agreed geographical area requires prior authorization.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and fees.
8. Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Morden is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our liability for any claims is capped at the total amount paid for the rental in the last 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence or for fraudulent actions.
Governing Law Guidelines
These Terms are regulated by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will fall under the exclusive authority of English and Welsh courts.
